Mega Pink Medical Camp
“For LADY Patients By LADY Doctors With LADY Technicians”
WIMA Kazhakoottam in association with Dr. Rasheed's Diabetic Speciality Centre conducted a Mega Pink Medical Camp at SNSS Library Hall, Kamaleshwaram, Thiruvananthapuram from 11 AM to 3 PM.
The camp started at 11:00am and there was active participation from the female population around the area among all age groups. 110 female patients total.
The OPD services were available from General Medicine, General Surgery , ENT , Gynecology, Cancer Screening departments by female doctors.

- Dr Simi Das – Consultant ENT Surgeon (TSC Hospital) Charge of the ENT OPD services.
- Dr Githu S G – General Surgeon (SNMM Hospital)
Lab facilities were availed by the attendees and it included Hemoglobin, Cholesterol levels, Serum TSH and RBS. There were stations for blood pressure monitoring and directing them to the care of Physcian.
Dieticians were available for diet counselling and detailed diet plans were customised for each person based on their need.
The Pink medical camp was a great success today because of the involvement from huge female population which was remarkable. Everyone used all the available services and were happy with the care.

World Diabetes Day 2025
The blue circle is the universal symbol for diabetes, adopted in 2007. It represents the unity of the global diabetes community in response to the growing health epidemic.
WIMA Kazhakoottamin association with Rotary Club Kazhakoottam has conducted an awareness session on Diabetes
“An Overview on Diabetes” at the Rotary club office, Kazhakoottam on 15th November 2025 at 08:00pm.
Dr. Sabeer A Rasheed: Director - Dr. Rasheed’s Diabetic Speciality Centre, Trivandrum was the speaker of the day.
The session was welcomed by Dr Simi, WIMA Chairperson and the session was given by Dr Sabeer.
The crowd was eagerly waiting for the session to begin so that they could clear their doubts and myths about Diabetes and to get a clear idea about Diabetes in general. It was an interactive session mainly concentrating on the evaluation part and the beliefs about dieting in Diabetes. Our speaker also narrated his experience in dealing with diabetic patients. The crowd was educated about modifying their lifestyle along with the changes to be eyed upon their quantity, content and their diet schedule.
The session was winded up by Dr Githu, WIMA Secretary, with special thanks to the Rotary Club President Mr John Joseph and to our speaker Dr Sabeer on the behalf of IMA Kazhakuttom.
IMA District Council Meeting
Dr. Shanavas (Hon’ Secretary) represented IMA Kazhakuttam at District IMA council meeting on November 3rd, 2025 at IMA HQ Thiruvananthapuram.
AMS Academic Session
IMA Kazhakkoottam conducted AMS session on 27/11/2025 at 8 PM. The meeting began with a welcome by AMS Chairperson Dr. Akhil Krishna, followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Kalpana Gopan
The speaker, Dr. Avinash S. Nair, delivered an excellent talk on “Approach to COPD in Primary Care Setting.” The session was informative, engaging, and highly useful for clinical practice. Around 35 participants attended, and the meeting concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Overall, it was an interesting and successful session.
CGP Session 26 November
IMA Kazhakkoottam conducted CGP session on 26/11/2025 at 8 PM. The meeting began with a welcome by IMA CGP DIRECTOR Dr. Prasanth CV, followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Kalpana Gopan. Around 40 participants attended, and the meeting concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Overall, it was an interesting and successful session.
The General Body Meeting, IMA Kazhakoottam
The program started with CME first on“Treatment of Ventricular Tachycardia" by Dr. Anees Thajudeen, Interventional Electrophysiologist and Cardiologist, KIMSHEALTH Thiruvananthapuram.
The presentation covered the latest protocols in diagnosis, medical management, and advanced interventional procedures.
Then the floor was opened for discussion. There was good participation from audience.
As a token of appreciation for the excellent academic feast, a memento was presented to Dr. Anees Thajudeen by Dr. Shyamlal S, on behalf of IMA Kazhakoottam.
